Kalmar FF's Sunday match against Västerås SK at Guldfågeln arena saw pyrotechnics that were smuggled into the arena. The police are now warning that very young people are being used to bring in and ignite the pyrotechnics.

What happened during the match?

During the home match, a group of supporters in the home crowd masked themselves under a flag and then lit pyrotechnics.

Why is it dangerous?

Police officer Albin Martinsson's assessment is that it is people between 12 and 17 years old who are most often bringing in and using pyrotechnics in the stands. The smoke is harmful and bengal fires give off an incredible amount of heat with a risk of burns.

What is the police doing about it?

The police are working preventively and visiting the homes of young people who they believe are at risk of getting involved in this and having conversations. After the weekend's events, a report has been filed for masking ban and breach of the Public Order Act.
