After Kalmar FF started the first half, the players were high up in the field and pressed the red-clad guests. The first chance to score came shortly after the minute played, when William Milovanovic won the ball high and pressed himself towards the penalty area, but the shot was covered. In the sixth minute, GAIS built an attack from the right flank, where Robin Frej found the eternal machine Milovanovic, who drove the ball out to the sideline. With two red-clad players around him, Matadoren made a pass to the far side of the goal. In the heat of the moment, Samuel Salter sprinted in and scored the opening goal on the volley. 1–0 to GAIS! With the opening goal in their bag, GAIS increased their green-black presence on the offensive half. Milovanovic together with Henry Sletsjøe controlled the midfield while Oskar Ågren and Anes Cardaklija closed the doors behind. The guests' first chance to reply to the opening goal came after a quarter of an hour played, when they, through an effective wall game on the left flank, got free to the goal. Kalmar's Marius Söderbäck came free to Mergim Krasniqi, with Sletsjøe's hack in his heel. The finish forced Krasniqi to a leg-parade and the return was cleared. Ten minutes later, Krasniqi was tested again. Kalmar pressed from the left and found a gap just outside the penalty area. The shot against the far post was saved by a slinging Krasniqi, who ensured that the lead was still intact. In the final minutes of the first half, the players came close to increasing the lead. After a fine game between Frosti Thorkelsson and Rasmus Niklasson Petrovic, they came close to the goal area. The latter shot a shot that just missed the post. Into the halftime break, GAIS took their opening goal and the feeling that a second goal was in the air. The second half began intensely directly. The guests played in their first attack until a big chance, but the ball was headed out. Kalmar maintained their pressure forward and worked hard diagonally across the field, but rarely came close to goal chances, as the defenders' backline in every attack broke the ball. After an hour played, GAIS made their first substitution, with Max Andersson leaving and Oscar Petterson coming in. Minutes later, Robin Frej also left and captain August Wängberg came in. Until the last ten minutes of the match, the game had evened out somewhat, but while GAIS prepared for a triple substitution, a new opportunity arose. After a pass from Petterson, the ball landed with a red-clad defender, whose clearance failed and the ball bounced past the guest goalkeeper and was not cleared before it went into the goal. 2–0 to GAIS! Directly after the extension, GAIS made their final substitutions: Thorkelsson, Salter and Sletsjøe left and Jonas Lindberg, Shalom Ekong and Filip Beckman came in. With new forces on the field, GAIS continued their pressure towards the goal. Ekong pressed directly and the attack resulted in a corner. The corner was kicked in and Ekong, who had come forward, nodded in the third goal and the final result 3–0! The final minutes were played and GAIS confirmed after five additional minutes that they had won the match against Kalmar FF with 3–0! Next up is a break for the World Cup and the next Allsvenskan match will be played away against IF Brommapojkarna on July 6th at Grimsta IP.
